Jared the Roundout Wine Broker will be back to pour two brand new Italian bubbles and my 2 favorite Austrian Wines.
Etz Gruner Veltliner Niederösterreich, Austria
The Etz estate, with its 30 hectares of prime vines in the Kamptal region, consistently produces Gruner Veltliner at the highest quality level. When winemaker Franz Etz bested 600 other Gruner wines at a tasting conducted by 14 of the worlds top sommeliers, notice was paid. Fresh as a slap across the face, bright as the morning sun, and clean as a glacial lake. It's also just $15 for a 1L!!
La Jara Prosecco Brut Prosecco, Italy
A true Prosecco crafted from 100% Glera grapes. This wine was crafted under the strict Certified Biodynamic principals, with natural re-fermentation in autoclave (aka the Charmat Method). The soils are stony gravel, with the vines planted at about 3250 per hectare. Harvest was done in late August. This bubbly combines the delicacy of the scents of sour apple with a freshness of taste; it's the most dry Prosecco version.
Alberici Amilcare "La Fogarina" Lambrusco Dell'Emilia Reggio Emilia, Italy
Organic. 100% estate-grown fruit. Made from 85% Fogarina and 15% Ancellota from 60 year old vines. Frizzante and dry, between 10 and 11.5 percent alcohol in a typical vintage. Hand-harvested in mid-October. The wine rests in tank from harvest until February or March of the following year, then goes through a slow, natural fermentation in bottle.
Rosi Schuster Blaufränkisch Burgenland, Austria
Rose Schuster's vineyards are among the finest and most expressive in the communities of St. Margarthen and Zagersdorf. Beautiful balance, dark plum, and black cherry, great layers and texture.
